This last year and a half really knocked me out of my art game. Sometimes life gets richer and more complicated in good ways, but it doesn't mean they're not challenging too. I'm trying to adapt to a life where a lot of the time I used to have is being parceled out differently. There's also the emotional ups and downs of having a new baby... again! (For anyone who has been following me for a while... bless your patience.... that's three now). All that to say, art took a backseat and parenting and house ownership and gardening filled up it's space. I'm trying to push myself a little extra hard to start making art again. I have to think about projects differently and organize my time (which is not and never has been my strong suit) It's not an easy thing to get through any task without needing to stop several times for this or that. Of course, now that I'm finally making time to draw again there are huge gopher holes in my yard. Really? So I suppose I just wanted to say

I came across an old list of prompts for my DA2 character Kaja. I wrote little stories for a bunch of those prompts, but there were notes on this that I'd forgotten about. I've been in the doldrums/depression/mid-life crisis/burnout, whatever the hell you want to call it, for the past few years. I haven't been writing, haven't been doing any crafts, playing any games... haven't been doing much of anything but existing.  Dealing with Mom in Alzheimer's facility; the awful part is that what made my mom, Mom, is gone. Just the body is left and she's basically a child. Had a wreck at the beginning of the year and my wrist still hurts. Anyway, I'm not sure whether things have run a course, or because of the hormone therapy I'm getting now, or what, but for the first time in years I actually wrote something again. S

Good to hear from you again! Yeah, holiday season was good, if a bit tiring, as I was jumping around the province and not really getting any time off work. Writing is going a bit slow, but I'm finally making some progress on Chapter 24 of The Grey Path, and I'm working on a short story for a contest as well. Hope things are going well with you!
